Once the flowers have dried and the dress has been carefully packed away, it is often the smallest details that become the most treasured: the invitation that first announced the day, handwritten vows, an order of service, or a pressed flower from the bouquet.
These are the details that hold the memories of a wedding. Yet so often, they spend years tucked away in a memory box, brought out only occasionally. We think there is another way.
It feels as though we are moving towards a different idea of the wedding keepsake — away from objects that are simply preserved, and towards heirloom pieces that become part of everyday family life.

From Wedding Stationery to Heirloom
Each bespoke wedding mount begins with something deeply personal: the couple's own wedding stationery.
Rather than creating a generic wedding design, we look at the colours, motifs, typography and small details that make the stationery unique to that couple. These elements become the starting point for a new piece designed around their wedding photographs and keepsakes.
The result is something that connects the visual story of the wedding day with the home that comes afterwards.
A favourite wedding photograph might sit alongside the invitation, a handwritten note, a pressed flower or another small detail from the day, all brought together within a mount designed specifically for the couple.
It is a way of preserving the wedding without simply putting it away.
Mergim's “Something Blue”
One of our favourite recent commissions was created for bride Mergim. Mergim wanted to carry her “something blue” beyond the wedding day and into her newlywed life. Working alongside her wedding stationer, Laura MacVine, we created a bespoke mount inspired by the details of Mergim's invitation suite.
The design brings together her wedding portrait with the colours and motifs from the stationery, creating a piece that feels unmistakably connected to the day while still sitting naturally within the home.
The blue becomes more than a detail from the wedding itself. It becomes part of the story that continues afterwards.
Designing Around the Details That Matter
What we particularly enjoy about bespoke wedding mounts is that there is no fixed formula. Every wedding has its own visual language. It might be the colour of the flowers, an illustration of the venue, a particular pattern, a family crest, a monogram or a tiny detail from the invitation that becomes the starting point.
For Mergim, it was her “something blue” from her wedding stationery. For another couple, it might be the colour of the church flowers, an illustration of the house where they were married, or a motif that appeared throughout their stationery.
These details can then be brought into a mount for a wedding photograph, invitation or other keepsake, creating something that feels considered.
Why We Make Bespoke Wedding Mounts
When I left my 17-year career as an actuary, I wanted to build something rooted in a simple belief: the objects we choose to keep and display shape our sense of identity, belonging and family history.
That idea sits at the heart of Coeur et Maman. We live in a time when so many of our memories exist digitally. Thousands of photographs can sit on a phone, while the physical things that once marked important moments are increasingly easy to put away and forget.
Yet there is something different about seeing a photograph, letter, recipe or invitation on the wall. It becomes part of the environment around us. It becomes something children grow up seeing. It becomes part of the visual history of a family.
Our bespoke wedding mounts are an extension of that philosophy. They are designed not simply to preserve a memory of the wedding day, but to give that memory a place within the home and allow it to become part of the family story that follows.
