Choosing the right mount size

A Guide on choosing the right mount

Each mount board is crafted to standard proportions, with a slightly smaller aperture (window) to ensure a professional overlap when framed.

1. What’s the difference between A-sizes and inches?

A-sizes follow metric standards, while the US uses inches. Here’s a quick reference:

2. How do I choose the right frame size?

Select a frame that matches the outer mount size, not the picture opening. For example, an A3 mount board fits into an A3 (11.7 × 16.5 in) frame.

3. How much of my image will be visible?

Each mount board is cut to reveal slightly less of your picture (around 5–10 mm on each side) so the image stays perfectly secure and aligned. Here is a guide on which photo/document to pair with each mount  board size:

5. Where can I find frames to fit Coeur et Maman mount boards?

Our mount boards align with standard A-series frame sizes. For the best presentation, we recommend:

  • Bespoke or conservation-grade framing to complement the heirloom quality of your mount board.
  • Trusted local framers who can cut glass and backing precisely to size.
  • Premium ready-made frames from reputable retailers that accommodate A-sizes or equivalent inch measurements.

Each design in this capsule is grounded in a celebration of the home as a place of memory, quiet wonder and modern heritage.

“The Meadow” captures the soft calm of early light across field and flower, painted in gentle lilacs, dusky blues and warm sienna.

“Scarlet Reverie” threads vibrant anemones and cosmos with a playful, romantic energy.

“Green Garden” evokes lush depth and timeless verdure, a subtle tribute to growth, rootedness and legacy.
