FAQ
Each mount board is crafted to standard proportions, with a slightly smaller aperture (window) to ensure a professional overlap when framed.
1. What’s the difference between A-sizes and inches?
A-sizes follow metric standards, while the US uses inches. Here’s a quick reference:

2. How do I choose the right frame size?
Select a frame that matches the outer mount size, not the picture opening. For example, an A3 mount board fits into an A3 (11.7 × 16.5 in) frame.
3. How much of my image will be visible?
Each mount board is cut to reveal slightly less of your picture (around 5–10 mm on each side) so the image stays perfectly secure and aligned. Here is a guide on which photo/document to pair with each mount board size:

4. Do you offer custom sizes?
Yes. We can produce bespoke mounts for common formats (8×10, 11×14, 12×15 inch etc.), as well as any other bespoke size of your choice, for an additional fee. Please send an email to help@coeuretmaman.com or use the contact form HERE and we will create a bespoke size for you.
5. Where can I find frames to fit Coeur et Maman mount boards?
Our mount boards align with standard A-series frame sizes. For the best presentation, we recommend:
- Bespoke or conservation-grade framing to complement the heirloom quality of your mount board.
- Trusted local framers who can cut glass and backing precisely to size.
- Premium ready-made frames from reputable retailers that accommodate A-sizes or equivalent inch measurements.
To choose the right mount board for your preferred frame, focus on the outer dimensions
When choosing your mount board, select one with an insert slightly smaller than your photograph so it sits comfortably in place and doesn’t slip out once framed.
